Is abortion legal in Nepal?

Check out our first article with the European Journalism Centre grant was published in Witness Magazine by World Press Photo:

Is abortion legal in Nepal? Many Nepali women don’t know the answer.

Ramshakhi Dev, age 32, second right, stands with her children at the entrance to their home in their village Hariharpur 10, outside Janakpur, Nepal, July 7, 2017. Dev had an abortion after getting pregnant again for the fifth time. After she realized she was pregnant she went to a pharmacy and got the pills. She took them, without complication, but there was no follow up after the abortion.

There is also an interactive quiz we created to test your knowledge about abortion. This project wouldn’t have been possible without the stellar journalism of Rojita Adhikari and the generous European Journalism Centre (EJC) grant.

Please read it and share widely!
