Ebola Survivors Football Club – Vignette

Ebola Survivors Football Club

for The New York Times

This assignment was shot in Kenema, Sierra Leone about a football club that helped bring Ebola survivors together, for the New York Times,. It showed that the whole community could support them, despite the stigmas attached to the virus. The challenge was to try and complete the assignment in one day, and the match happened almost at night time.

It was a great assignment to get and to watch something so positive come out of such a horrible epidemic. It is just an amazing bonus and honor that this was selected as a World Press Photo winner.
