Sylvie Mutwambaka Mirindi and the Mamans Sensibilisateurs have their weekly meeting at a members house on September 28th, 2017 in Walungu in South Kivu- Democratic Republic of Congo.

Sylvie Mutwambaka Mirindi is the Founder of Mamans Sensibilisateurs, a committee made up of women who, like Sylvie, are married to members of the Forces Armées de la République Démocratique du Congo (FARDC). These women both witness and face violence in their homes and community. Among other programs, Sylvie and the Mamans Sensibilisateurs launched programs that have dramatically reduced violence in their homes and communities, as well as a co-counseling system for married couples to discuss their problems constructively without violence.
